Hollen Technical Consulting: About Us

Grace Hollen
is co-founder and co-owner of Hollen Technical Consulting, LLC. She has an M.A. degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Texas Tech University and a B.S. degree in Secondary Education and English from Pennsylvania State University. Grace has over 18 years of experience as a technical writer and editor with a strong command of the English language. Her areas of expertise include technical editing, science writing, and project management. She also coordinates and integrates composition, design, illustration, photography, animation, and printing into the production of quality publications that positively impact organizations. Grace is a member of the Society of Technical Communication (STC) and has won numerous awards for publications under her purview, including Best of Show (1994, 2004) and Distinguished Technical Communication (1991, 1992, 2001) from the Regional and International STC Publications and Technical Art Competitions.

As a senior editor for Los Alamos National Laboratory, Grace compiled, edited, and wrote a variety of communication products, including activity and annual reports, technology and research reviews, organizational self-assessment reports, proposals, viewgraph presentations, and posters. She also managed multi-disciplined publication teams that included compositors, designers, writers, editors, illustrators, and animators and has authored and co-authored numerous articles on a variety of subjects related to science and technology. Grace held a Department of Energy security clearance for 17 years.

Grace recently completed a user manual for an innovative software tool known as OpenMake Mojo™. This tool allows users to automate, centralize, and accelerate software development processes from build to release. Grace currently edits a variety of documents for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including regulatory guides, safety evaluation reports, and other technical rep orts.
